The Wingo Lions Club is preparing to showcase the creativity of local youth during its second annual Junior Art Show.
The event will take place Feb. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m., featuring artwork from more than 39 student artists representing schools across the region. Organizers say approximately 100 pieces — created using a variety of artistic mediums — have already been framed for the show.
Many participating students have chosen to donate their artwork to the Lions Club. Those pieces will be available for purchase through donations of any size, giving attendees an opportunity to support young artists while taking home original work.
In a social media post, organizers said the event will offer something for everyone, including opportunities to meet the artists, collect autographs and experience the excitement of students making their first art sales.
While the submission deadline has passed, community members are encouraged to attend, meet the artists and help brighten a child’s day by purchasing artwork. Light refreshments will be served.
