Signing on the air on October 17th, 1976, WYMC Radio opened it’s doors as the second AM station in Mayfield, Kentucky with the idea of operating under local broadcasters and delivering music alongside community news, weather, and high school sports.

Initial programming goals centered on delivering local news coverage, general entertainment, and middle-of-the-road music, while quickly integrating into community events and charitable initiatives to foster ties with Graves County residents. This focus positioned WYMC as a vital voice for underserved rural audiences, prioritizing service over commercial dominance in its early years.

50 years later, the station is still going strong and continues to be a vital key to the surrounding community. With consistent interviews with the Mayor, Mayfield/Graves County Tourism, Chamber of Commerce, and a handful of local non-profits, we still do our best to provide that local feel.
